CURRENT POSTINGS: Full-Time Communications Officer

The Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Communications Officer.
Job Duties include but not limited to operating a variety of communications equipment including radio systems, 9-1-1, various telecom systems, and a computer aided dispatch system in accordance with department policy and our standard operating procedures.
Determine jurisdiction when handling calls for service and then notifying or transferring calls to other agencies when appropriate; dispatches Police, Fire and EMS personnel to various locations within Jasper County and mutual aid to surrounding counties.
Full-Time Communications Officers will be required to pass and maintain certifications in CPR, IDACS, EMD or any other additional certifications needed to fulfill their job duties.
Successful candidates must be of good moral character, no felony convictions, have excellent communications skills, have the ability to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure, exercise good judgement, and be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively.
Full-Time communications officers may be assigned either a 12 hr or 8.5 hr rotating shift for days and midnights. Must be able to work scheduled holidays and weekends.
